She first got it when her now six-year-old turned one.
Still, its not so large that it looks bulky in the backyard.
Its also relatively easy to clean up.

The only real downside?
It takes a lot of muscle and trial and error, even with a drill, says Earley.
Its a great way to encourage fine motor skills, particularly for young children.

On the upside, its one of the lighter options, so its easy to move around as needed.
Its also a great option for year-round play.
Its typical of childrens toys but may not exactly be what you want to look at in your backyard.

Enter this mostly wooden option from Avenlur.
Its all one tone (dark brown) and expertly crafted out of heavy-duty, nontoxic real wood.
Overall, the two-tiered table is relatively simplebut in a good way.

There are multiple basins for the kids to pour water, plus tracks and waterwheels to watch it travel.
The biggest downside is that this water toy is very labor intensive to put together.
I had to drill everything together too, which made me extra nervous about making a mistake.

Id suggest maybe swapping in your own dry erase markers instead, says one tester.
Overall, our tester appreciated the aesthetic of the wood and plastic table, calling it nice and sleek.
They also like that the legs are adjustable to three different heights, depending on your kids height.

Plus, even though its nice and durable, it was one of the easiest to assemble.
The directions are clear, and theres no need to pull out the drill.
A sizable basin and some balls will do.

And thats exactly what this water table delivers, albeit in a slightly more sophisticated way.
The functionality is simple, our tester told us.
But even my three-year-old was actually pretty into it for a little while.

The ball tower is fun and challenges their fine motor skills, and teaches them about cause and effect.
They also liked the dual basins.
Setup is the easiest of any other options we tried too.
Fortunately, our tester said the table largely delivers on performance too.
More style points for this water table!
As far as the water features go, our tester liked the two-tier design.
My one-year-old daughter loved watching the water filter through.
I just wish the spinners on the side actually spun to add to the fun!
My kids had endless fun playing in the foamy water, while bubbles danced around them.
The base has a dual-sided basin, so kids can play simultaneously on either side.
Because the base is flat, I would recommend putting this water wall on a patio or paved driveway.
