I knew there was some kind of audience out there, because I would have been that audience.

She suggested it, and then people really responded to it.

I always brought way more than I was supposed to, to have different options.

I think people really liked that a lot of it was from Target or relatively accessible.

Youve consistently used your platform to champion transgender rights.

Earlier this month you took a break fromJeopardyposting to testify against SB454 in Ohio while the tournament was airing.

One thing about being trans is that, by existing, you are sort of an activist.

By refusing to hide yourself, its an act of activism to leave your home.

Its something that youre already, to some extent, comfortable with.

And its been so discouraging these last few years to see these backlash bills coming along.

People targeting children who cant fight back to score these political points and really putting children in danger.

Children will die as a result of these policies.

I know trans kids in Ohio.

I had to do something to try and fight for them.

Its been reported that you were initially hesitant to come out as trans onJeopardy.

One thing was, you know, you dont want to be the trans person.

Being trans, it can always feel like that.

So I didnt want that to be the focus of who I was.

Im quite proud of being trans.

Its an important part of my identity, so I didnt wanna leave it completely unacknowledged either.

Youve spoken about yourWizard of Oztattoo onJeopardy.

Could you share a little bit more about that tattoo and the story behind it?

Its Ozma of Oz.

[L. Frank Baum], who wrote theWizard of Oz, wrote a dozen or so sequels.

In all of them, Ozma is the ruler of Oz.

I loved those books as a child, so it just seemed like the perfect story.

In the past, you have shared that you prep for Jeopardy by listening to Eminems Lose Yourself.

Has your pump-up music remained the same?

Its the same playlist; I wanted to keep everything as much the same as possible.

Lose Yourself in particular is just so perfect.

Is Part of Your World still one of your go-to karaoke songs?

Youre not going to blow my mind with any of this.

Ive gotten so much more out of being myself.

I wouldnt be here today, I wouldnt have been successful onJeopardy, I wouldnt have met my wife.

Everything about my life now started with my choice to come out.

Youre a girl, obviously, would be the main one.

Because when I was a kid, there was no such thing as trans people.

Is there anything else youd like to tell our readers and your fans today?

The main thing is to be visible about yourself and about your allyship.

Speak up in your workplace, in your church, wherever it may be.

Youd be surprised how much of a difference it makes.

Are there any upcoming projects or things that youre doing we should keep an eye on?
