I had bacterial vaginosis for almost a year, Dixon tellsGlamour.

Beatrice Dixon Is Putting Every Vagina First

“It would go away and come back every single month, right after I had my period.

I did all the stuff.

I took the medicine.

I went to the doctor.

I went to Google.

I did all the natural stuff, too, but still nothing worked.

It was crazy, and I was really desperate.

She basically was like, I know how to fix it.

She handed me a piece of paper, and it had a list of ingredients.

Dixon had never met her late grandmother in real life, but she took the advice to heart.

I just kept repeating it over and over again.

I literally woke up saying the ingredients, and then I wrote it down.

Now Dixons focus is on reclaiming her wellness and advocating for vaginas everywhere, especially vaginas of color.

In person, her aura is full, welcoming, and light.

I soon learned Dixon is indeed all about taking advantage of the now.

And what other projects are you excited about doing with The Honey Pot?

I think vaginas are constantly overlooked.

For so long, they havent been cared for.

So were here doing the work.

People dont talk about menopause.

Its definitely not talked about in the Black community.

She comes from the energy of knowledge is power.

If people know about these things earlier, they can better prepare for when it happens.

Shes authentic and really cares, and she has a beautiful voice.

You see how she takes care of herself.

Those are the kinds of things that stand out to me.

Its really important that we live up to this bargain.

What time of day do you normally get up?

And what does your morning routine normally look like?

I wake up between seven and eight, but I dont have an everyday routine.

I need to do what I feel that day.

Sometimes Im in a really good pocket and I might get up and stretch.

I have my green drink and drink my water.

I do drink water every day when I get up.

Ive been traveling a lot.

Theres a lot going on.

So I have had my head down.

I dont want to say Im not taking care of myself, but Im just moving.

So it just depends on where Im at.

I think these kinds of moments are short-lived.

When I do something, I want to go for it.

The gift that my grandmother gave me, I really wanted to share that with the world.

I want to be the change in the world that I live in.

Its about community, its about love, its about humility, its about loving yourself.

Its about accepting yourself.

And Id say its about education.

Its really important for you to be educated.

Its a culture that were putting into everything that we do.

We just so happen to make really beautiful, efficacious, clinically tested, plant-derived, empowered vaginal products.

How do you typically deal with rejection when it comes to working in this industry?

Its full of rejection.

You raise money, but youre going to get a thousand nos and maybe two yeses.

You go to present to a retailer, and they can take it or they can not.

In the beginning rejection was harder.

Now it is what it is.

Ive been in the world of natural foods for a long time.

I used to be a salesperson.

I worked in stores.

I was a broker.

I was a sales manager.

So Im used to hearing no, because I had a whole profession of doing this.

Hearing no is not weird to me.

Its just a part of it, especially in business.

You just have to get used to it.

What part of the job do you love so much that you get carried away doing it?

Innovation and connection to the people that we serve.

Tell me about a moment where you realized you were successful with this.

I always knew that The Honey Pot would be successful.

Success to me isnt about money.

Success to me is about making a decision.

Im going to put my focus on that decision, and Im unrelenting.

Im not a person who celebratesnot that I dont respect my achievements; Im grateful for them.

But I have to keep my eye on the ball.

What is the best piece of money advice youve ever received?

If you werent in this career, what would you be doing?

Id probably still be working in the natural foods industry.

Id probably be somebodys president of sales, or something like that.

Whats the last great book you read?

I havent read a book in a minute.The Four Agreements,I reread that a lot.

I readThe Secret of Secretsby Osho a lot too.

But I havent had time to read recently.

Whats your next big goal?

My big goal is to travel less.

Not personally, necessarily, but with work.

Ive been traveling a long time on the road, more than Im at home.

So my goal now is to figure out how to reverse it, to be home and still work.

I dont want to be traveling every week.
