Gracie Abrams is hours away from performing at theiHeartRadio Music Awardswhen she says something that genuinely surprises me.

Its the reason why Abrams wont be changing her makeup as we approach the warmer months.

I think thats amazing, but why is it important for you?

Well, its budget-conscious, for sure.
So Ive appreciated it a lot for that reason as well.
And when Ive found products that I love, it doesnt feel like Im clogging my space up.
Are there any tricks youve learned from makeup artists that you’re able to impart to us?
She is able to make the people she works with look most like themselves.
Thats very exciting to me as someone who isnt a makeup artist but tries to be on the road.
You mentioned your mom,Katie McGrath.
Whats the best beauty advice shes ever given you?
But growing up, she was always [preaching] the importance of SPF.
Theres such beauty in that.
Theres so many examples of all different kinds of beauty in every single one of our crowds.
So Im just always admiring them.
Do you buy any tchotchkes from each city that you go to as a little reminder?
We do collect things everywhere.
One of our items is local hot sauce.
[Laughs] Ive also scrapbooked on this tour.
Ive been more consistent with documenting it.

I love my hair best when it is short.
When its short, I feel better.
I love it short as well, but do you think youd ever go back to long hair?
I probably would at some point.
But not right now.
I felt I sunk into my skin more in a way that I wanted to do.
So I have appreciated it and Im just rolling with it.
But I get impatient.
Finally, are there any beauty trends that you dont think you could ever get on board with?
But maybe my answer would be no, anyway, because who knows?
Maybe tomorrow Id try anything.
I like experimenting, generally.
I like dress up.
I dont think that theres a huge departure between the person I am offstage and onstage to be honest.
So yeah, I guess never say never on that front.
