Have you guys never seen a fat cheerleader before?
Im really proud of myself because Ive realized I have way more of a backbone than I thought.
At first I was like, Oh my gosh.
And then they saw that I lost the weight and theres something else that you gotta talk about.
So its just interesting.
Its an interesting conversation.
How are you dealing with the responses?
In the past year, Ive done a lot of internal work, and Im very secure in myself.
You just have to realize, at the end of the day, its just sad.
Its really sad because it doesnt really make sense for that to be the outcome, but it is.
Are you in therapy?
Did you see the last season ofLove is Blindbefore you went into the pods?
[A publicist points out that season 6 and 7 were filmed simultaneously.]
I have, yes.
What are your thoughts on that?
I wear it like a badge of honor.
I think shes a wonderful human being.
When I watched it, I saw nothing wrong with her.
We all have insecurities, we all have problems.
Call me Chelsea, I think thats wonderful.
I think shes a wonderful human.
Its such a tricky thing too.
Ill defend Nick in that I do think he was joking.
But the problem is theres a wall there.
So even though [he may be] joking, Im like, Oh my gosh, really?
The controversial contestant opens up about her one regret, love triangles, and starting therapy immediately after filming.
How did you feel watching that back?
When I look back on it, I was honest.
Thats how I felt in that moment.
I was in shock.
And I think my delivery and how I say things [could] be a lot kinder.
Im learning that about myself and reflecting on that.
So I do regret the way I talked about his height.
Im not a foot taller than Nick, but at that moment I felt like a giant.
And when we got to Mexico, Im like, Okay.
Like, he was right.
But in that moment, youre like, Oh, God, Im being lied to.
Its not Henry Cavill.
Youre just in shock.
Do you wish more of your early relationship with Nick was shown?
But theyre following six couples this season.
They had the seventh couple, which is Leo and Brittany.
So its just a lot of people to follow.
Was there a part of you that wished Leo and Brittany made it to Mexico?
Did you want to see how that played out?
I still had no clue what he looked like.
Would it be completely different?
Would me and Brittany still be normal?
You just dont know, but I think it would have been interesting to see.
What was your reaction when you looked him up on Instagram?
He looked exactly like I thought he would look like.
I imagined hed be tall, lanky…dark hair.
I did imagine a flow.
He doesnt have the flow.
It was just weird.
No, not at all.
Do you think thats accurate?
That is something Ive been working on.
My entire life its been a problem me being overly harsh.
And I know its an issue, and trust me, Im working [on it].
Thats why I journal.
So the cruel thing is likeIm just direct.
In my head, being direct is being kind, but other people dont like it like that.
So Ive realized that.
And if you dish it, youve got to take it, right?
Nick and I are the younger ones.
Im young, hes young.
We absolutely still have flaws.
We still have so much room to grow up.
But when youre together, how special would it be to grow together?
Im getting nitpicky and so aggravated because I need you to grow.
Because I was like, This is so serious.
And so I was being so serious.
Was that an example of what you meant?
Thats what it felt like.
It felt like he would say one thing and do the other.
Thats why [I called him] Mr. Suave, because like, you say it, do it.
You say youre a good cook.
Show me youre a good cook.
Like, can you boil water?
Do you still feel that way?
Yeah, I think for me my frustration was because hes saying the right things.
Looking back, Ill be like, Why was I so mean?
And he would just be like, Its amazing!
And maybe thats how he felt.
But for me, I was like, Whats going on?
Obviously, a lot has been made of you getting the ick.
[Laughs]
And so is everyone else in pop culture.
Its not just you.
Before thecheating scandaleven happens, Monica says Everything [Stephens] doing is pissing me off.
I saw a post that boiled down to the women this season dont like any of these men.
Do you think thats fair?
DC is a very unique place.
Its a grind, its a hustle…. LinkedIn is the place to be.
I think thats what youre seeing.
We know what we want, and if youre not there, well tell you exactly whats wrong.
Well just speak our mind.
How did you feel about what happened between Stephen and Monica?
Like Mom and Dad, theyre just gonna have such a beautiful love story.
Then were in Mexico, and theres little cracks and stuff, but its just normal.

Did they have a connection in the pods we didnt get to see?
[Long pause] Small, but yeah.
Because we were trying to figure it out.
We wouldnt have done that if we didnt love each other, you know?
