I was entering my 30s, and I have different health issues.

Its stress, its hormones, its mental health, its digestion issues, all the nonsexy stuff.

What is the one product from Apothekary you recommend for everyone?

We launchedTake the Edge Offfeaturing yuzu, so I would say that product.

Not only does it taste incredible, but its one of our very first white-wine-alternative tinctures.

But then theres a little twist to it with yuzu in it, which is a Japanese citrus fruit.

It plays well with other drinks mixed in, but you’re able to also take it directly.

But if I want to have a fun mocktail moment, Ill make a little drink.

I do ginger beer every day.

I like the idea of popping a sparkling water and hearing the can open and it feels like beer.

I add fresh turmeric and ginger into it as well, and a wedge of lime.

Its actually delicious and takes like beer.

What inspired you to start your own brand?

I was walking through CVS and Walgreens and was like, This is not how I was raised.

To pop a pill for every single thing that I felt like was causing me issues.

I go back to my Asian roots.

We go toward as much as natural as possible.

I grew up with clay pots and herbs and mushrooms growing around me.

My dad was a farmer.

As an AANHPI beauty founder, how are you celebrating AANHPI Heritage Month?

We actually do a dinner every year with fellow AANHPI founders.

Its called AAFK, Asian Americans Away From Keyboard.

Its a good group.

Who are some AANHPI-owned brands and founders you love?

I really admire what Tatcha and Vicki Tsai have done there.

What is one beauty rule that you swear by?

Recently, just sleep.

But there are three things: moisturization, sleep, and water.

Those are the real three basic things that we do.

I dont have a 20-step skin care routine; my step is three steps, and thats it.

Sleep is the most important thing.

I go to bed by 10.

What is one beauty rule you think is BS?

The 20-step skin care routine is completely bullshit.

Its just consumerism and people trying to sell you products that you dont need.

You dont need 20 products; you need one or two great things and water.
