Why do I keep seeingsocialmediatakesthatseemtoreserveall of theirirefor Dr. Santos?
I hate to be blunt but this opinion is wrong.
Its true that when we are first introduced to Dr. Santos in episode one, she is profoundly unlikeable.

Warrick Page/Max
Like, I get it.
I understand that not everything is about sexism but a lot of things are, actually.
Which indicates that her tough-guy act is a front to conceal her own vulnerability.

Any romance reader familiar with the enemies-to-lovers trope should recognize this archetype.
Big, etc.are viewed more sympathetically.
Time and again, we are presented with evidence that Dr. Santos isnt actually an asshole.

Warrick Page/Max
Shes respectful and kind to the nurses, for instance.
And even her mocking nicknamesCrash and Huckleberryare more likely just her awkward attempt to foster a sense of camaraderie.
Why do we think Dr. Santos isnt being sincere about this?
She is, in fact, repeatedly humbled.
In one episode she drops a scalpel into Dr. Garcias (Alexandra Metz) foot.
Dr. Langdon also comes down on Dr. Santos, but in a decidedly unconstructive way.
Its because she knows hes been stealing meds from the hospital.
Plus, and not for nothing, Dr. Santos is actually a very good doctor!
She doesnt have Mels (Taylor Dearden) sweetness or Javadis innocence.
He was stealing drugs and needed to be immediately dismissed.
Dr. Santos is young and inexperienced, but shes learning.
Dr. Langdon is already experienced, and he should know better.
Im not saying that Dr. Santos is a perfect person, or even the best person on the show.
