Jennette McCurdy Is Turning Her Voice Memos Into a Podcast and We Have the Exclusive First Trailer

I think the intimacy of it is really exciting, McCurdy says.

When Im recording, its just important to me that Im not self-editing and not self-censoring.

Im saying whatever in the moment, free-flowing, total stream of consciousness.

Of course, there will be some trimming down for clarity.

The bite-size nature of itthat was really important to me, McCurdy says.

I didnt want a podcast that was an hour and 48 minutes.

I feel overwhelmed when I go in to listen to a podcast and its eight years long.

Im like, Okay, nobody has time for this.

In many ways the podcast is an extension of McCurdys radically vulnerable memoirIm Glad My Mom Died.

Its done so much in real time.

So it totally is prompted and inspired by a genuine emotional place.

And so in that way, its impossible to speak to it in advance.

Itll surprise me as much as it surprises the listeners.
