I hope she watches the movie and she resonates.
I think thats what spoke to me so much about Sofias work as a young girl.
At 14, I was not someone to mess around with.
I was very intense.
I knew exactly what I wanted, and I was going to do anything to get it.
That was really freeing for me.
And I thinkPriscillaslots right into sort of that through line that [Coppolas] carried throughout her films.
Hearing you speak about your experiences at 13 and 14, it feels so young!
How did you feel as an adult playing Priscilla at 14 and falling in love with an adult man?
Did you think about your own self at 14?
And I think Priscilla did the same thing as well.
Sofia takes that on in her films and doesnt underestimate her young female leads.
Pricillas been dealing with that kind of scrutiny since she met Elvis at 14.
There was always something she was doing wrong, something she wasnt getting right.
And now shes telling her side of the story and people have a problem with it.

Do you have any memories that stick out to you?
There was actually one that was really sort of special.
Wed met twice in person, but then we had numerous phone calls about the project.
I said, Does that happen a lot?
And shes like, No, thats not usually the kind of music that plays on my radio station.
So that was a sort of surreal special moment to have.
Do you remember which song it was?
I think it was Love Me Tender.
