I would say, Stop being melodramatic; youre only 30.
Now the clock is not as strict as we thought.
I would say, Great things are coming your way.
Do not settle for the wrong man.
Thats something I really thank myself for.
And, Do not listen to all these expiration dates that they give you.
Because I was also told that, as an actress, you kind of stop working around 30.
I did really feel it at the time, and its unfair.
Do you think Hollywood is changing for women, in terms of that expiration date?
In terms of Hollywood, yeah, its changing.
I do feel like young girls have a lot of pressure to succeed fast.
I actually think theyre suffering more than my generation.
What are your thoughts on her perspective?
Having a good marriage is one of the hardest things.
I get a little bit nervous because for me it hasnt even been that hard.
Its kind of like when something good happens to you and youre waiting for the hit.
Yeah, for the other shoe to drop.
It keeps you on your toes.
I actually didnt believe in marriage.
I didnt want to marry him.
He tried for a long time, and I would say yes, and then I wouldnt show up.
And I was terrified.
How do you keep your marriage from feeling boring?
I didnt understand this for a long time.
Also it helps that we met each other later in our lives.
Its little simple things.
You had your first wedding ceremony on Valentines Day.
Do you guys count that as your anniversary?
I didnt even know I was gettingmarried that day.
It was like an intervention.
I dont think I ever told this story.
No, they just took me to the court.
My parents, my brother, they were all ganging up on me.
I had a phobia of the marriage thing.
The reason why it was a courthouse wedding was because they dragged me there.
You were cool with it, though, once it was going on?
And then after, there was a lunch at his parents house.
I had no choice.
You couldnt say no.
And then afterward I said, Oh, its okay.
I dont feel any different.
And then a little bit later I said, Okay, this is kind of exciting.
And hes like, Can we have a party now?
And then you did the big ceremony in April.
We celebrate those two.
When it comes to anniversaries, its fun and a surprise.
I can cook, so he likes it when I cook.
But I make it a surprise, something different, like the way I decorate.

Is there any part of getting older that you thought would be different than it actually is?
What do you mean by that?
I thought getting older meant I wasnt going to work; Im working.
I thought getting older maybe meant that youre not in love anymore; Im in love.
I dont feel that I lost my flexibility or my agility or even my strength.
I do have to say that I have found it beautiful, getting older with someone.
Youve been working for more than three decades.
When was the first time you thought, Okay, Ive made it?
Or, This is my own success?
In my career Ive never thought in those terms so much, except for when I was very young.
[Now] its more like a sense of gratitude that, Hell, Im still going.
They tried to get rid of me a thousand ways; Im still here.
And its kind of like a laughter more than Ive made it.
After you received your first paycheck in Hollywood, is there anything you splurged on?
How come its so little after the taxes?
I had a lot of responsibility, so Im not a big splurger; Ive never been.
For me, its more exciting to make the money than to spend it.
Whats one of your most inexpensive pleasures?
I play one stupid game, and I have to pay to get in the game.
I feel very guilty when I play it.
Its like Candy Crush, but its not Candy Crush.
Im not going to advertise them, but guess what?
Im darn good at it.
Ive managed to understand what the algorithm is doing.
Im never going to beat it, but I always rank really high.
Whats an expensive pleasure?
I would spend a good buck on something sensorial.
Ive been diving for 46 years, but I dont own my own stuff.
Im more into the experience.
I dont have to possess everything I love; thats a good quality of mine.
